The postcard below (postmarked 1915) depicts the synagogue in Novi Sad, Serbia.  The pictured synagogue was built in 1901.  As of 1941, there were about 4,000 Jews in the city out of a total population of about 80,000.  The extermination of the Jews of Novi Sad was carried out in successive waves, first under the Hungarian occupation and then the German troops.  This included the shooting of more than 1,400 Jews on January 23, 1942, along the bank of the Danube.  About 200 Jews lived in the city in 1970.
