Petah Tikvah is a city in Israel's coastal plain about seven miles east of Tel Aviv. The village of Petah Tikvah was established in the 1870's. By 1900, the population was 818 and by the mid-1990's, the population exceeded 150,000. The postcard below depicts the synagogue in Petah Tikvah.
