Sonnenberg was a subcamp of Buchenwald established in September, 1944. The camp had an average strength of about 400 prisoners working for the Zahnradwerke C.G. Reinhardt (produced wheels and cogs).
Below are thumbnails of the front and back of a Lordahl type Ps314II/09 postcard postmarked October 20, 1944, from an Italian prisoner to Miagliano, Italy. The card bears a Miagliano receiving mark dated December 5, 1944.
