General

    Giessen was a subcamp of Buchenwald located in west-central Germany on the Lahn river. The camp worked with the Sanitaets-Ersatz und Ausbildungsabteilung. The prisoners were housed in a local lunatic asylum.

Lettercard

     Below are thumbnails of the front and back of a Lordahl type L1c lettercard from an inmate at Arbeitslager Giessen postmarked November 6, 1944.
