Gellenau is a town in what was the Silesia region (county Glatz) of Germany, now part of southwestern Poland.. Camps were established in February, 1943, for about 1,500 female prisoners working for the Dierig chemical company. The remaining prisoners were evacuated in March, 1945 to Mauthausen.

The cards bears the 3-line cachet from the Aeltestenrat Sosnowitz and is also stamped with a "Z" censor mark.
