Chemnitz was the location of labor camps under the jurisdiction of Flossenburg. The camp associated with the Astra-Werke AG was established in the autumn of 1944 and had an average strength of 500 women prisoners. For a discussion of the Jewish history of Chemnitz, see Chemnitz, Germany.
