Ankenbuck was located in Kreiss Villingen in the southern part of Baden. The camp was one of the earliest, opened in April, 1933. An average of about 125 prisoners were held in the camp until it closed in March, 1934. The remaining prisoners were transferred to KZ-Kislau.
Below are thumbnails of the front and back of a photocard written before Christmas, 1933. The photo shows a SA man standing in front of the camp building with the caption "Das badische Konzentrationslager Ankenbuck". The text was written by a chaplain and indicates that the camp resembled KZ-Kislau. This photocard is the only reported philatelic item associated with this camp. Please click on the thumbnail to see the full image, and then click your back key or "Photocard" in the left frame to return.
