Frystzak, Poland

 

General

    Frystzak was a village in the southwest region of the Lwow district. The Germans occupied the town on September 8, 1939, and a Judenrat was appointed shortly thereafter.  A Ghetto was created in June, 1942 and liquidated on August 18, 1942. The Ghetto population amounted to about 1,600 persons. They worked at building roads and in stone quarries.

    Below are thumbnails of the front and back of a postcard dated September 29, 1941, from Frysztak to the Litzmannstadt Ghetto inquiring about a Mr. Lieberman.
