Belzyce, Poland

 

General

    Belzyce was a town in the Lublin district. The ghetto was created in 1940 and liquidated in May, 1943. Beginning in May, 1942 Jews from Lublin, Krakow and Germany were transported to Belzyce. Prior to the liquidation of the ghetto, a number of Jews were deported to the camps at Majdanek and Sobibor. During the liquidation, most men were transferred to the labor camp at Budzyn and most of the women and children were shot.
