General

    Lentschutz was an undocumented ghetto located about 38 kilometers northwest of Lodz (Litzmanstadt).

Postcard

    Below are thumbnails of the front and back of a postcard sent by the Judisches Hilfskomitee (Jewish Help Committee) in Lentschutz to the Judenrat in the Lodz ghetto, postmarked August 12, 1941.  The handwritten message in German inquires about a woman and is signed by an executive committee member.  The card bears a red 2-line Judisches Hilfskomitee/In Lenstschutz cachet on front and back and a red circular cachet on the back.  Please click on the thumbnail to see the full image, and then click your back key or "Postcard" in the left frame to return.
