Kroscienko was a small town in the Krakau district. The Germans occupied the town in September, 1939. On August 30, 1942, the remaining Jews were deported to Nowy Targ, and from there, most were sent to the Belzec death camp.
Below are thumbnails of the front and back of a postcard sent by Henig Hirsch of Kroscienko to the Polish Red Cross, postmarked Sanok December 13, 1941. The message, written in Polish, asks about relatives. The card bears a red Kroscienko box cancel (Judenrat) and a Red Cross receiving cancel dated December 16, 1941. Please click on the thumbnail to see the full image, and then click your back key or "Postcard" in the left frame to return.
